Conversation: the representation of jewels in european painting — April 22, 2016

L'Ecole offers a regularly scheduled program of Evening conversations, from 8pm to 10pm. These evenings give 35 people the chance to learn from and share with two experts on a particular topic.
The next Evening Conversation will be held in Paris on Thursday, May 26 and will be about The representation of jewels in european painting.
Since the Renaissance, painters illuminated their masterpieces with the most beautiful jewelry and gemstones of their time. The art of the jewelers is thus revealed by paintings, sometimes witnesses of disappeared jewels. Let us decode together the fascination of European artists for the representation of these jewels.
The Evening Conversation will be hosted by Guillaume Glorieux, Doctor in Art History, Professor of art history at the Rennes University and graduated at the Paris National Superior Business School and by Gislain Aucremanne, Art Historian, graduate from the Ecole du Louvre and professor at L’Ecole Van Cleef & Arpels.
