From design to mock-up

Maximal participants:

Exploring the first steps in the creation of a jewel: from mock-up to design. This class is conducted by an experienced jewelry mock-up maker, a drawing teacher and an instructor.

Using various sources of inspiration, you will be guided through the three stages which allow a jewel to be represented in two dimensions: the sketch, the tracing and the gouache. You will create a pewter mock-up, the first three-dimensional interpretation of the jewel. From the first stroke of the pencil through to physical reality, discover the virtuosity of jewelry-making.

"I love seeing the way students change. They can be quite reserved at first, but they open up more and more as the class goes on. You have to be feeling good to do good work, so I am a bit like a mother hen. I want you to produce something special, and I do everything I can to make sure that you do."

It was so refreshing and interesting to actually create something with my own hands, since it's so rare nowadays! I discovered how patient you need to be and most of all, I really had fun!
