How does one become a jeweler?

About the Talk

The jeweler works on precious metals. He studies the design and the mock-up, thinks through the project, examines all characteristics, anticipates the stages which will need to occur on the way to completion, confirms the volumes and the proportions which the final piece will have. He establishes and maintains a dialogue with the experts of all the métiers who will be involved in the different aspects of team craftsmanship necessary to finish the project.

Each precious metal mounting must seem delicate but be extremely solid, while always opening the way for the light to shine in, out and through. The excellent savoir-faire which can be seen when one observes the piece closely from all angles, from above as well as from below.
