In celebration of Emirati Women's Day, and marking the first public Arabic in-person conversation for this occasion, this talk examines the multifaceted relationship between Arab women, jewelry, and cultural identity. It explores the historical and sociocultural significance of jewelry as both adornment and treasure, analyzing how it was worn and perceived within its cultural contexts. The discussion further investigates the artistry and technical craftsmanship chosen by women, with a focus on materiality and its symbolic meanings. Finally, the talk highlights the contributions of iconic women jewelry designers and makers, while also addressing the emerging generation of creatives reshaping the field.
