Amber, Art and Science (In-Person Conversation)

June 12th, from 7.30pm to 8.30 pm.

A fossilized gem with astonishing plant, animal or gaseous inclusions, amber has been used since prehistoric times in the creation of numerous jewels and statuettes. Yellow, red or even white, amber has, like jade or yellow gold, always been seen as a symbol of political power and as an agent of protection in both Asian and European cultures.
