What is a pearl? How is it formed? What is the difference between a natural pearl and a cultured pearl? Why does it have a power over our imagination? 
Since prehistoric times, pearls have fascinated us. We know this thanks to archaeology. From the Renaissance to the present day, the pearl has embodied the very essence of beauty, triumph over adversity, sensuality and even spirituality.
