The Gouaché in High Jewelry 2 - The Color (3 hrs)

Savoir Faire Jewelry Gouache Color

Learn to represent color on a gouaché painting.

About the Course

A gouaché is a painting which guides all craftsmen involved in the creation of a High Jewelry piece – mock-up makers, jewelers, gemologists and stone setters. The gouaché technique consists of representing the three-dimensional volumes of a piece of jewelry on a flat drawing.

Three elements must be considered in the creation of a gouaché painting: light, color, and finally, the texture.

In this second course devoted to color on gouaché, experience the designer's gestures while painting both a cabochon and a faceted stone. Discover how color and representation of light enable the designer to reproduce faithfully the shape and tone of stones. Understand the creative process and become familiar with this specific High Jewelry design technique. After the class, bring your gouaché painting home.
