Those many attributes can describe both a collection, that of one thousand Men’s rings, and the rich personality of its devoted creator, the late art dealer Yves Gastou.
This conversation allows to journey through the eye of a collector and offers an immersive exploration of his personal preoccupations and mental universe. The selected pieces, to be admired in the concurrently exhibition dedicated by L’ÉCOLE Asia Pacific to “Men’s Rings, Yves Gastou Collection”, from September 2022 to January 2023, showcase a wide range of history related rings, some authentic, some replicas, all thoughtfully hunted down by this altogether baroque and provocative French furniture merchant. Authentic tribute to a life of curiosity and aesthetical quest, this dialogue between a Jeweler and an Historian pays homage to a now departed Yves Gastou L’ÉCOLE is proud to recall and celebrate.
