Exhibition "Recreating Gesture: Crafting a Gold Necklace from the Iron Age"

L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts is presenting a radically new research project at the crossroads of archaeology and the history of techniques. Titled "Recreating Gesture: Crafting a Gold Necklace from The Iron Age", this exhibition will open on November 5th, 2026, and run until April 24th, 2027, at the L'ÉCOLE campus in Dubai Design District (d3). Unveiled during Dubai Design Week in strategic partnership with d3, the event invites the public to explore the intricate artistry and historical significance of an ancient Celtic torque.

The exhibition represents a strategic research project by L'ÉCOLE, combining archaeology, the history of techniques, and goldsmithing craftsmanship. Through experimental archaeology, the project meticulously reproduced a Celtic neck collar from the Second Iron Age, originally discovered in Montans, France, to understand the skills and techniques of that period. Following its successful debuts in Paris, Lyon, Seoul, and Shanghai, the Dubai exhibition offers Middle Eastern audiences a unique opportunity to delve into the complex craftsmanship of this remarkable historical jewel, further enhanced by an Open House, a cultural program, and an Arabic-translated podcast.
