Ruby: The King of Gems (Reading Session)

The session will discuss the journey of ruby from its geological origins and unique physical properties to its role as a symbol of power, passion, and protection across different cultures and eras.

L’ÉCOLE invites you to discover the stories behind the world of gemstones through live reading sessions with our experts.

For this session, Chandra Horn gemology teacher at L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts will read an excerpt from Joanna Hardy’s Ruby.

The session will discuss the journey of ruby from its geological origins and unique physical properties to its role as a symbol of power, passion, and protection across different cultures and eras. We will examine what makes a ruby exceptional in terms of color, clarity and origin while highlighting legendary rubies and collections that illustrate the human fascination with ‘The King of Gems’.​
