L’ÉCOLE Asia Pacific will host the School's Exploration Day of Diamond, taking place at the vibrant K11 MUSEA campus on Saturday, November 22nd and November 29th. These exploration days coming along with special talks, themed "The Savoir-Faire" and "The Gem" of diamond, offering an engaging and educational experience for all ages.

The event features a diverse range of activities, including a fascinating tour of the "Discover the Diamond: Art & Science" presentation, unveiling the secrets behind these dazzling gems. Witness the artistry of jewelry making with captivating demonstrations by L’ÉCOLE’s lecturers. Challenge your knowledge with an interactive diamond matching game, featuring iconic diamonds from history, presented by our art historian and jewelry designer (available during selected timeslots). Children and teenagers can unleash their creativity in a fun and educational origami workshop, learning about the art and science of diamond while developing their artistic skills.

To commemorate your diamond adventure, participants who complete all checkpoints will receive a complimentary diamond origami gift set at L’ÉCOLE.

Sharing - Diamond: From Rough to Brilliant

Diamond is the hardest natural material on Earth, and it has fascinated scientists for its remarkable properties, especially its fire and brilliance.

Diamond cutting, an essential step in revealing all the beauty of this unique stone, is a complex art, only passed on from father to son or through a long apprenticeship with a master diamond cutter, a true artist of volume and precision. From grading to setting, explore this dazzling mineral and delve into its exceptional physical properties.

In Person Talk - Jean-Baptiste Tavernier: Rediscovered Treasures

After traveling throughout Europe and the Orient for over fifty years, the French dealer Tavernier came back to Paris in 1668. His chests contained hundreds of diamonds, pure masterpieces of Indo-Mughal lapidary Art of the 17th century. Over time, these diamonds would be re-cut, lost, forgotten or stolen.  

What did these legendary stones look like?
Explore Tavernier's dazzling treasure and delve into its exceptional legends and history.

In Person Talk - The Fascinating Colors of Diamonds (Cantonese)

Long sought after for their hardness before being appreciated for their brilliance, it is now also by their color that diamonds turn heads around the world.  

For several years natural colored diamonds have seen a growth in popularity amongst connoisseurs, in particular blue and pink diamonds, the most popular among them.
But what is at the origin of their color? Can it be measured, quantified and appraised? Is rarity the only aspect to explain the passion they evoke?  

As numerous are the mysteries surrounding these gems, during this talk we will attempt to unlock some of their secrets together.
