The Mock-up, First Sculptural Vision of the Jewel (13 to 17 years old)
Initiate teenagers to High Jewelry through the mock-up technique.
About the Workshop
Once the design is finished, the process of creating a jewel begins with a gouaché painted design, depicting its color, shape, and volume in actual size. Then comes the mock-up stage, first interpretation of a jewel in three dimensions.
Seated at the jeweler's workbench, and guided by experts from the Maison Van Cleef & Arpels, the teenagers become familiar with the jewelry making professions and learn more about the specific techniques involved in making jewelry mock-ups.
The participants can bring home their tin mock-up inspired by the collections of the Maison.
Offering a unique educational experience both authentic and fun, the creative workshops of L'ÉCOLE allow raising awareness on creative professions for young people from 6 to 16 years old. Also, the workshops stimulate their imagination so they can discover new realms of creativity.
