Men Jewelry, Signs & Insignia

Albert V of Bavière by Hans Mielich 1545, Alte Pinakothek(Munich) Full

Today obscured by the fact that most jewelry is worn by women, men’s jewelry has been extremely desired and important for a very long time.
Much more than an element of adornment, it is at the same time a social and cultural marker, an instrument for the assertion of power, a communication tool and a fashion accessory. It combines symbolic and ornamental functions.

This talk will provide an opportunity to rediscover the importance of men's jewelry in history.
