Marie-Antoinette as cultural icon

Passionate about fashion, fine furniture and jewelry, Marie-Antoinette (1755-1793), Queen of France, is still recognized nowadays for her very personal refined and delicate taste... and for her penchant for expense!
This inclination for luxury and pomp will unfortunately be fatal to this "Madame Deficit" at the dawn of the French Revolution. But behind this character decried and contested in her time hides, in reality, a very fragile and sensitive nature.
Considered one of the most essential historical figures, Marie-Antoinette still arouses fascination and enthusiasm today, thanks to the work of Riyoko Ikeda, manga artist who highlights, through her drawings, French know-how and elegance.
Immerse yourself in the existence of a sumptuous sovereign and in the intimacy of a woman in search of simplicity.
