[Video] Bejeweled: A Symphony of Gemology and Art with Louvre Abu Dhabi

Throughout history, gems have been used to confer power, declare love, pay homage and enhance beauty. During this conversation, L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts, will explore the intersection between gemology and art, focusing on the historical significance and materiality of gems within different cultures and eras.

Through the lens of Louvre Abu Dhabi’s permanent collection, our speakers will examine how gemstones have travelled across continents, shaping economies and societies.

This talk seeks to illustrate how the enduring relationship between humans and gems continues to reflect our values, aesthetics and beliefs.
