The Library of L’ÉCOLE

A library dedicated to the jewelry arts

A library and a bookshop entirely dedicated to the jewelry arts

To promote education and transmission, L’ÉCOLE’s second site in Paris (l'Hôtel de Mercy-Argenteau) features a library and a bookshop dedicated to the world of jewelry.
Located in the heart of the Hôtel de Mercy-Argenteau, the library brings together some 6,000 works (ancient books, exhibition catalogues, auction catalogues, academic theses, specialized magazines and journals, etc.) accessible by appointment to readers - students, researchers and the simply curious. Three splendid rooms are reserved for the library, one of which includes a book consultation area.

The librarians, Vanessa Portut Jeanne and Giulia Rocci

Vanessa Portut-Jeanne

Vanessa Portut Jeanne

As a child, Vanessa was constantly off to her public library, where she devoured novels and comic books.
With a master’s degree in modern literature and a technical degree in the book industry, she trains future librarians, documentalists and archivists at Paris Descartes University. Warm and passionate, she created and organized the documentation center at the Centre National du Costume de Scène in Moulins-sur-Allier before joining L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts in April 2022.

Giulia Rocci

Giulia Rocci

In 2016, at the age of twenty-five, Giulia Rocci moved to Paris after earning a master’s degree in literary translation; she had always dreamed
of living in the French capital. After a somewhat inconclusive experience at a high school, she enrolled at the École des Bibliothécaires et des Documentalistes on Rue d’Assas in Paris before joining L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts, where she is responsible for cataloguing the thousands of works in its library.
