About the Cycle
100 years ago, Art Deco jewelry was born, at the crossroads of the worlds and movements of the era. Stroll through the aisles of the Jewelry Pavilion at the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts and discover the central role of jewelry and jewelers in the emergence of this modern style that continues to inspire contemporary design.
A series of three courses to help you discover the different facets of the Art Deco style:
- A Change of Era: A captivating journey to the origins of Art Deco and within the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts.
- Art and Material: A look back at the different materials used, the evolution of techniques and craftsmanship, and the observation of Art Deco jewelry from L'ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts' Cabinet.
- A New Aesthetic: An analysis of the movement's diverse sources of inspiration and its duality between a drive towards the future and a constant reinterpretation of the past.
