Workshops for young people

From Stone to Poem (9-14 years old)

A boy is drawing

A writing workshop for your child to create a dialogue between poetry and minerals.
This workshop allows each child to create a calligram based on one of the stone presented in the exhibition “Stone and Reveries: Poetry and Minerals of Roger Caillois”.

About the Course

Some minerals, sawn and polished, evoke landscapes, familiar or mysterious shapes. In this workshop, each participant reproduces the silhouette of their chosen stone, adding phrases or simple words to its contours to create a calligram.

After selecting a stone to represent, children let their imagination run wild

The first words are put down on paper. Using tracing paper, the contours of the stones are then traced, and the drawing starts to form.

Students leave the workshop with their creation.
