From Stone to Poem (9 to 14 years old)

Introduce your children to poetry and minerals through a calligram workshop.

About the Workshop

After selecting a stone to represent within the exhibition "Stone and Reveries: Poetry and Minerals of Roger Caillois", children are invited to create their own calligram inspired by the chosen mineral. Some minerals, sawn and polished, can evoke landscapes, familiar or mysterious shapes.

Using tracing paper, they reproduce the stone silhouette and add phrases or simple words to its contours to create a calligram, letting their imagination run wild.

Children leave the workshop with their creation.

Offering a unique educational experience both authentic and fun, the creative workshops of L'ÉCOLE allow raising awareness on creative professions for young people from 6 to 16 years old. Also, the workshops stimulate their imagination so they can discover new realms of creativity.

Useful to Know

  • The workshop is open for children from 9 to 14 years old.
  • Adult supervision is not required.
  • Children are invited to discover the exhibition before or after the workshop. A visit slot reservation is not necessary.
