About the Course

Discover two worlds, where the taste for beauty is combined with the passion for creation.

In the jeweler’s workshop as in the pastry chef’s kitchen, learning blends with imagination.

L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts and Le Cordon Bleu Paris collaborate to propose a creative workshop for 9- to 11-year-olds accompanied by an adult.

Following in the footsteps of jewelry artisans, your children design, cut and decorate their own personal treasure box. In their hands, the wooden box becomes a jewel case for objects and wonders, adorned according to each child’s creativity.

Once inspired by the motifs and techniques of jewelry craftsmanship, another adventure as detailed as it is delicious begins in the kitchens of a pastry chef... As a parent-child duo, you'll experience a moment of shared pleasures as you learn to make the most mineral of French delicacies: chocolate “rochers”.

Meet the Guides

Your initiation begins as soon as you arrive at the Hôtel de Mercy-Argenteau. In this 18th-century mansion, you will meet the art historian and illustrator who will accompany you throughout the morning into the world of the jewelry arts.

Your creative journey will continue in the afternoon, in the apartments of the Hôtel de la Marine. In the heart of this monument built by King Louis XV's first architect, you'll be welcomed by a pastry chef, who will guide your hands and reveal the secrets of a delicious dessert.

Follow the paths of discovery with these artisans of taste and refinement, who will share their passion with you...

At the Heart of Creativity

Between the gilded wood-panelled walls of the former dining room of the Comte de Mercy-Argenteau, L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts opens the doors to a world where attention to detail and harmony take pride of place. Drawing inspiration from precious jewels and creations such as the MinaudièreTM, aspiring jewelers can learn about shapes, colors and patterns, and let their creativity flow.

After a lunch break, children and adults alike will be welcomed into the kitchens of Le Cordon Bleu Paris - Hôtel de la Marine. In the manner of a pastry chef, aprons tied at the waist, they will discover other equally meticulous gestures, such as tempering chocolate using a cooking thermometer. Together, they will create pastry jewels: rochers with contrasting textures and flavors, from their crunchy shells to their delicate hearts.

Placed with care in their cases, adorned and personalized that very morning, the rochers will then be enjoyed by all participants, in a moment of discussion and an invitation to share.
