Overview

The study days co-organized at the Collège de France by Francesco Solinas in collaboration with L'ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts are part of a fruitful scientific dialogue with the prestigious institution founded by François I. Spread over several years, they aim to deepen our knowledge of the history of jewelry in Europe, from the end of the Middle Ages to the end of the 19th century. The contributions of French and European specialists from a wide range of disciplines are intended to provide food for thought and contribute to the advancement of this field of knowledge.

The third edition, held in January 2025 at the Collège de France, focused on "Diffusion and appreciation of precious ornaments and jewelry in Europe between Baroque and Rococo (1650-1750)". The presentations focused not only on the works themselves, their style and craftsmanship, but also on their place in society of the time, and the symbols they conveyed. These proceedings preserve their memory.
