The Lacloche maison is a treasure of Parisian jewelry making. From its humble beginnings on Rue de Châteaudun in 1892, it made its way to Rue de la Paix, with branches in London and Madrid and outposts in resort towns like Nice, Biarritz, Cannes, Deauville and San Sebastian... The Lacloche family enjoyed a meteoric rise to the top during the Belle Époque, winning over the royals of England, Spain, Greece and Siam, as well as the aristocracy and Hollywood stars.
Known for the elegance and sophistication of their craftsmanship, pieces by Lacloche Frères, then Jacques Lacloche, were designed by the best studios in Paris, including Langlois, Péry, Rubel, Strauss Allard and Meyer and Verger, all of which are honored in this book. Drawing on family archives and two extraordinary, unpublished albums packed with goauches of jewelry, boxes and pendulums crafted for the International Exhibition of 1925, this first monograph contains 700 documents that showcase the jewelry house's extraordinary creations from Art Nouveau and Art Déco to the 1960s.
There is poetry in Lacloche pieces. It is expressed in the iconography of the jewelry, it is conveyed in the finesse of their execution.
