About the Course
In the lacquer workshop, surrounded by tools and materials from Japan, create your own lacquered butterfly using three of the lacquer master's ancestral techniques: applying color, Maki-e (gold powder), and mother-of-pearl mosaic.
After the class, bring your lacquered butterfly home.
This course is solely devoted to the Urushi lacquer. A four-hour course allowing you to discover not only the Japanese Urushi lacquer, but also the traditional savoir-faire of French jewels is also available: "From French jewels to Japanese lacquer".
Useful to Know
- You are welcomed by your lecturers, and a refreshment is offered to you before the class starts.
- This course is given by two experts, one of whom is a lacquer master.
- All necessary equipment is provided on site.
- A certificate is given at the end of the class along with a list of recommendations of books, podcasts, websites, museums related to the course attended.
