Learn how to analyze the quality of a diamond.
About the Course
Slip into the shoes of a grader who must grade a diamond being guided step by step in the writing of a grading report of a colorless diamond, like in a laboratory.
Choose first the diamond that is going to accompany you throughout the course and learn to precisely observe it to determine its characteristics, according to the 4Cs grading system. Finally, measure and determine the diamond’s proportions.
At the end of the course, you know how to complete an entire grading report and have discovered the different steps necessary to analyze the quality of a diamond.
Prior to this course, it is strongly recommended to have attended either the course "The Fascination of Diamonds: Science and Gemology" or the course"The Diamond: A Gemological Exception". Otherwise, it is necessary to have a basic knowledge of diamonds and to be familiar with the use of a loupe and tweezers.
Useful to Know
- You are welcomed by your lecturers before the class starts.
- A welcome refreshment is offered prior to the class and during the break.
- This course is given by two gemologists.
- All necessary equipment is provided on site.
- A certificate is given at the end of the class along with a list of recommendations of books, podcasts, websites, museums related to the course attended.
