About the Course
What are the different varieties of gems? Where and how do crystals form?
Guided by two gemologists, discover the origins of gemstones, their great variety, and the different techniques used to extract and collect them. Learn about the development and the various stages of cutting and polishing, as well as the techniques for evaluating gemstones.
Your lecturers lead you through hands-on experiences, during which you manipulate and observe the stones using gemologists' tools.
This course expands upon gemological notions covered during the two-hour course "Introduction to Gemology"; therefore, it is recommended to attend only one of the two courses.
Useful to Know
- You are welcomed by your lecturers before the class starts.
- A welcome refreshment is offered prior to the class and during the break.
- This course is given by two gemologists.
- All necessary equipment is provided on site.
- A certificate is given at the end of the class along with a list of recommendations of books, podcasts, websites, museums related to the course attended.
